Help for new parents and parents-to-be
If you have just been told that your baby has Down’s syndrome, we understand that you may be feeling lots of strong emotions.
We are very happy to talk to you on the phone, via email or to arrange a visit, and to try and answer any questions you may have.  We have a lot of knowledge about Down’s syndrome and will answer your questions in an honest and unbiased way. We won’t be shocked or offended at anything you want to know, as we have probably asked the same questions ourselves!
If you have been given the diagnosis after a screening test, only you can decide what is best for you and your family.  This can feel like a huge responsibility but you will eventually know what feels right for you.
It is really important to take your time making this decision, there is no hurry. We can help you to make sense of what you have been told and support you in coming to a decision that feels right for you and your family.
We know that initial contact can be difficult, so why not ask your health visitor or midwife to get in touch with us on your behalf....
